DisCo at the Capitol: California Disability Community Advocacy Conference

The Arc of California is partnering with Easterseals and United Cerebral Palsy to host their annual DisCo at the Capitol: California Disability Community Advocacy Conference on April 1 and April 2, 2025, at the State Capitol in Sacramento, CA. The event attracts people in the disability community from all across the state, including many with developmental disabilities such as autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, etc.. Day 1 is an advocacy conference from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Day 2 is the Capitol Rally and Silent DisCo from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. On Day 2, the attendees will march to the legislative office and meet with their state legislators. Day 1 will have 200 attendees, and Day 2 will have approx 500 attendees. Light breakfast and lunch will be provided.
We need at least 5 volunteers each day, and we are very flexible on the amount of hours being volunteered each day, and the tasks. We will need people to work the check-in table, to help direct parking, to work the buffet table, to set up, and to break down each day.

Description
The Arc of California, in partnership with Easterseals and United Cerebral Palsy, are hosting their annual advocacy conference on April 1 and April 2 called "DisCo at the Capitol: California Disability Community Advocacy Conference." During this two day event we expect 200 people on Day 1 and 500+ people on Day 2. Many in attendance will be people with developmental disabilities (autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, etc.). We will provide lunch both days. We need at least 5 people on each day to help us work the check in desks, work the lunch buffet, direct parking, collect garbage left on tables, help with set up and break down, and support the event as needed.
