As a Sun Bus volunteer, you'll have the opportunity to:

1. Contribute to the Screening Process: Utilize the cutting-edge Modernizing Medicine EHR system to efficiently manage check-ins, obtain consent, and document participant screening. Your involvement ensures a smooth and effective screening process while you engage in a valuable learning experience and establish professional relationships that can open doors to future career prospects.

2. Promote Sun Safety Awareness: Engage the public with captivating demonstrations using our state-of-the-art cameras, including the Canfield facial skin imagers Reveal(r) and Visia, along with a 395 nm UV detecting camera to enhance our educational programs. These activities may also lead to opportunities to collaborate on ongoing research projects.

3. Educate on Sun Safety Practices: Illustrate sun safety practices using a knowledge prize wheel while providing education on selecting essential items like sunscreen, UPF hats, UPF sleeves, umbrellas and sunglasses. These crucial items are conveniently available for purchase directly on the bus, offering individuals a quick and accessible way to embrace sun-safe habits instantly. This will enhance the public understanding of sun safety through interactive demonstrations and informative guidance.
