Primary Duties:
- Work closely as a team with other NPS staff and volunteers to provide high-quality visitor services.
- Interact professionally with the public at busy visitor center front desk.
- Provide information and interpretation to visitors while roving in the Tuolumne Grove of giant sequoias, various other trails, and scenic viewpoints.
- Help with additional projects as needed.
- Optional: Research, develop, and present interpretive walks and talks. Program content should be relevant to Yosemite’s interpretive themes and presented in a manner consistent with park program standards. Program outlines must be submitted for approval and are subject to evaluation and coaching by interpretive leads.

Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license
- Physical ability to stand or walk for up to 9 hours a day including hiking up to 3 miles over steep and uneven terrain.
- 3-month minimum availability
Work Schedule: Full-time schedule (40 hours per week). Includes ongoing training. May be scheduled on weekends/holidays. Start and end dates may be negotiable, with preference given to those available longer.
Work Location: Big Oak Flat Information Station / Hodgdon Meadow area. This area of the park is desired by some since it is quieter than Yosemite Valley and has easy access to Tuolumne Meadows and the Yosemite backcountry. It is also about a 30-minute drive to the quaint town of Groveland. While not required, it is highly recommended that volunteers have a personal vehicle. The closest amenities (groceries, etc.) are in Groveland, CA or in Yosemite Valley, which are at least a 30-minute drive away from Hodgdon Meadow.
Lodging Details: Campsite or housing provided in the Hodgdon Meadow area. A campsite for tent, RV, or trailer may be available. There is a possibility that shared housing (room shared with another staff member) may be available. Camping or housing costs would be covered.
