The Personal Public Relations Specialist will work closely with the CEO of the Brickell Miami Chamber, who is a human trafficking survivor, award-winning author, and activist. This volunteer role focuses on managing the CEO's public image, enhancing their visibility, and promoting their advocacy work through strategic public relations initiatives. Key Responsibilities: 1. Public Relations Strategy Development: - Collaborate with the CEO to develop a comprehensive public relations strategy that aligns with their personal brand and advocacy goals. - Identify key messaging themes that highlight the CEO’s journey, expertise, and activism. 2. Media Relations: - Build and maintain relationships with journalists, bloggers, and media outlets to secure coverage for the CEO’s work, events, and initiatives. - Draft and distribute press releases, media advisories, and pitches to promote the CEO’s activities and achievements. 3. Social Media Management: - Manage the CEO's social media profiles, creating and curating content that reflects their mission and engages the audience. - Monitor social media trends and respond to comments and messages in a timely manner. 4. Content Creation: - Write compelling articles, blog posts, and opinion pieces that showcase the CEO’s insights and experiences related to human trafficking and advocacy. - Assist in the creation of promotional materials, including brochures and flyers, to support the CEO’s initiatives. 5. Event Promotion: - Promote public speaking engagements, book signings, and other events featuring the CEO to maximize attendance and media coverage. - Coordinate logistics for events, including press kits and speaking materials. 6. Crisis Communication: - Develop a crisis communication plan to address any potential challenges or controversies that may arise. - Provide support and guidance to the CEO during any public relations crises. 7. Monitoring and Reporting: - Track media coverage and public sentiment related to the CEO and their initiatives. - Prepare regular reports on public relations activities, outcomes, and recommendations for improvement. Qualifications: - Strong background in public relations, communications, or marketing. - Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to craft compelling narratives. - Experience in media relations and social media management is preferred. - Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. - Passion for advocacy and social justice, particularly in relation to human trafficking. - Discretion and sensitivity when working with personal stories and issues.
