The Grant Writer is essential for securing funding to support the initiatives and programs of the Brickell Miami Chamber. This volunteer role involves researching potential grant opportunities, writing compelling proposals, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements. Key Responsibilities: 1. Research Grant Opportunities: - Identify and research federal, state, and local grant opportunities that align with the Chamber’s mission and goals. - Stay informed about funding trends and opportunities relevant to community development and business support. 2. Proposal Writing: - Develop clear, persuasive, and well-structured grant proposals that effectively communicate the Chamber’s mission, programs, and funding needs. - Tailor proposals to meet the specific requirements and priorities of each funding source. 3. Collaboration: - Work closely with the Executive Director and other team members to gather necessary information and data to support grant applications. - Collaborate with the Finance Officer to develop accurate budget proposals for grant submissions. 4. Grant Application Management: - Prepare and submit grant applications by established deadlines, ensuring all required documentation is included. - Maintain an organized system for tracking grant submissions, deadlines, and reports. 5. Reporting and Compliance: - Ensure compliance with grant requirements and guidelines, including reporting on the use of funds and project outcomes. - Prepare and submit progress reports to funders as required. 6. Follow-Up: - Maintain communication with grant funders to follow up on application statuses and build relationships for future funding opportunities. - Gather feedback from funders to improve future grant proposals. 7. Continuous Improvement: - Stay updated on best practices in grant writing and funding strategies. - Attend workshops or training sessions related to grant writing and fundraising as needed. Qualifications: - Strong writing and editing skills with a keen attention to detail. - Experience in grant writing or fundraising is preferred but not required. - Ability to conduct thorough research and analyze funding opportunities. - Excellent organizational and time-management skills. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Passion for supporting community initiatives and the mission of the Brickell Miami Chamber.
