The Brickell Miami Chamber of Commerce is seeking a Volunteer Financial Officer to oversee the financial health of the organization. This role is crucial in ensuring responsible financial management and strategic planning. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and a commitment to supporting the local business community. Key Responsibilities: - Develop, implement, and monitor the Chamber’s annual budget in collaboration with the leadership team. - Prepare and present regular financial reports to the Board of Directors, highlighting financial performance and areas for improvement. - Oversee financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow management. - Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements. - Assist in fundraising and grant application processes to support the Chamber’s initiatives. - Provide financial insights and recommendations for strategic planning and decision-making. - Collaborate with other volunteers and staff to support Chamber programs and events. Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree or CPA preferred). - Previous experience in financial management or accounting, ideally within a nonprofit organization. - Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial software and spreadsheets. - Excellent communication and organizational skills. - Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders. - Commitment to volunteerism and community engagement.
