We are seeking a dedicated and experienced volunteer lawyer to assist in drafting and finalizing the bylaws for the Brickell Miami Chamber of Commerce. This is an excellent opportunity for a legal professional looking to contribute to the local business community while gaining valuable experience in nonprofit governance. Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with the Chamber’s leadership team to understand the organization's mission, goals, and operational needs. - Research best practices for nonprofit bylaws and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. - Draft comprehensive bylaws that reflect the Chamber’s structure, governance, and operational policies. - Revise and edit the bylaws based on feedback from the Chamber’s leadership and members. - Provide legal guidance on any potential issues or concerns related to the bylaws. - Assist in presenting the final bylaws to the Chamber’s board for approval. Qualifications: - Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. - Active member in good standing of the Florida Bar Association. - Experience in nonprofit law, governance, and bylaws preferred. - Strong research, writing, and communication skills. - Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. - Commitment to volunteerism and community service.
