This volunteer position offers a unique opportunity to utilize your skills and contribute to making a significant impact on individuals' lives.
Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive cybersecurity testing and penetration tests to identify vulnerabilities in systems, networks, and applications.
Provide detailed recommendations for security improvements to align with industry best practices and organizational needs.
Continuously monitor cloud-based systems for potential threats, unauthorized access, and anomalies.
Manage and respond to security incidents, errors, and breaches promptly and effectively.
Develop and maintain risk management processes, including threat identification, impact assessment, and mitigation strategies.
Stay updated on emerging cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies to ensure proactive defense strategies.
Collaborate with IT teams and other departments to implement recommended security changes and ensure compliance with organizational policies.
Design and deliver security awareness training sessions for staff and volunteers.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT security, or a related role
Proficiency in tools like SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), antivirus programs, and firewalls.
Knowledge of network security, operating system security (Windows/Linux), and cloud security platforms.
Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, or CIS Controls.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to train and guide non-technical staff on cybersecurity matters.
