About : Our team exists to connect newly arriving refugees and immigrants living in underserved areas of the U.S. to case management and support services for 90 days up to 1 year. Our program participants are eager to build up their English s kills as they navigate the workplace and their local community.
Opportunity: English language volunteer with CWS’ Virtual Integration Service Office
We are looking for a volunteer to support our program participants with practicing English . Each of our program participants has a case manager who supports them with developing a self-sufficiency plan . Many of our program participants are interested in improving and learning more English. We are looking for folks who can:
Meet with a program participant 1x per week for 30-45 minutes
Commit to volunteer for 3 months
Practicing English over the phone, Whatsapp or Zoom
Using online , library or other resources to help teach English
Practicing mock interview
Skills We Value:
- Having fun with practicing English!
- Use of various communication tools (e.g. Whatsapp, Messanger, Zoom, ect.)
- Comfortable working cross culturally and cross-linguistically
- Flexibility
