Resilience Clubs - Networked, Mutual Support and Learning

ORGANIZATION: CIVIC WORKS

club

To say 2025 can feel overwhelming is a comical understatement. Here is an idea to build support for each other while doing a little bit of good and learning from people in the world who have faced this and worse! Ideal for a student club but can be any group. This is to organize in person, but the first action is virtual, and it can be anywhere!

Raise the Voices is in touch with some amazing and resilient people who have organized through disasters and are continuing to organize and build now, in the face of difficult odds.

These Resilience clubs will get together in person and engage speakers doing grassroots important work around the world. Raise the voices will provide small speaker fees. This will support people in places where aid was just cut off, and also connect the club to the region in a very personal and engaging way. We are in touch with speakers feminist organizing in Sudan, building a new democracy in Syria, refugees from Myanmar, women finding ways to work in Afghanistan - who have personal narratives and inspirational methds of staying resilient through difficulties, and have much to share. The small speaker fee will help them, and their story and connection will help us get through all of this together while becoming closer to inspirational people around the world.

If clubs also want to take direct action we have guideance to work thru Indivisible and other effective organizing tools. The goal is to build long term strong relationships with each other while learning from the most interesting and engaging teachers who are actively working on the ground.

To form a small club if not through a school, we can use Meetup and we will help you organize your first meeting! Inviting others to break through their isolation is a powerful thing to do.

Thank you!

About CIVIC WORKS

Location:

10923 Progress Court #3326, Rancho Cordova, CA 95741, US

Mission Statement

We created civ.works as a platform for all of us to work together to overcome the corrupting influence of money in politics. Together we can address bad policy, legislation and to hold all of our elected officials accountable. For democracy to work -our government must represent "We the People". civ.works: Together. We can.

Description

civ.works is a privacy protected social platform built for meaningful civic action.

The concept of civ.works is to finally provide a societal machine to stand up against something created nearly 50 years ago -and begin the process of empowering citizens again. We are building a platform together -against an incredibly mature and well-funded machine. Your volunteer efforts will be helping us collectively build something powerful and important.
