Building and Strengthening

Bridging Beyond is a UK-registered charity committed to nurturing compassionate connections and understanding to help people transcend the ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic divides that prevent community bonds. Compassionate connections are vital in fostering a genuinely inclusive and mutually beneficial community. Research confirms the profound impact of strengthening community ties, enhancing mental well-being, happiness, education, economic prosperity, and reducing isolation and crime.

Bridging Beyond is focused primarily in the London boroughs of Hackney and Islington.

Your role will be to help Bridging Beyond make that difference by promoting the mission, emphasising the importance of community, compassion, and fostering cross-difference understanding. You will guide people and organisations to projects, groups, and events that best suit their needs and goals through a variety of digital means, including social media, web, and paid ads on Google, Facebook, and other platforms.

As a Social Media & Digital Marketing Volunteer, you will be part of the Communications and Marketing Team, and the following skills would be beneficial to the work:

  • Proficiency in a wide variety of digital marketing tools.
  • Ability to create and manage engaging content (text, images, videos) for social media, websites, and email newsletters.
  • Experience in managing social media accounts and implementing strategies to increase engagement and followers.
  • Skill in designing and managing paid advertising campaigns on platforms like Google Ads and Facebook Ads.
  • Ability to optimise ad performance through analysis and adjustments.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with a diverse community online.
  • Responsible, detail-oriented, and flexible.
  • Extensive and varied experience with digital marketing.

The Communications and Marketing Team will work together to:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive digital marketing strategies.
  • Produce high-quality, engaging content that resonates with the community.
  • Manage and grow Bridging Beyond’s presence on various social media platforms.
  • Analyse and optimise the performance of digital marketing campaigns.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive online community.
  • Communicate the mission and values of Bridging Beyond clearly and compellingly.
  • Adapt to the needs of the community and the organisation flexibly.

About Bridging Beyond

Location:

Newington Green Alliance, 128 City Road, London, Greater London EC1V2NX, GB

Mission Statement

We cultivate empathy and understanding across differences.

Description

Our vision
Our vision is to help people live more connected, satisfying, caring lives in community.

Our strategy
To achieve our bold goals, we approach 'bridging’ with a scientific point of view. Our methods are rooted in research showing that empathy is a key driver of social cohesion and trust. By fostering active listening, curiosity, and compassionate dialogue, we help individuals and groups challenge biases, reduce conflict, and build bridges across divides.

Based on the findings of our research team, we have developed a series of workshops with specific methodologies towards building empathy. We are offering these workshops together with strategic partners in different communities based in the London boroughs of Hackney and Islington.
