Interpreter (North Rim)

ORGANIZATION: National Park Service

Major Duties

  • Staffs an outdoor contact station providing general and trip planning information to the public. Restocks and maintains the free interpretive materials stored in the contact station. Takes necessary initial action to assist the separated parties, complaints, disturbances, and lost and found items; seeking assistance with situations cannot be resolved routinely.
  • Roves and patrols trails, scenic drives, and lodge area answering visitor questions and conducting informal interpretive contacts.
  • Assists entrance station staff with traffic control and checking for passes.
  • Assists North Rim managers with administrative projects.

Housing

Volunteer provides trailer/RV. Park provides RV pad and pays for electricity, propane, sewer and water.
