At Girls in Gear, we’re on a mission to make sure every girl has the chance to grow into the biggest, boldest, and brightest version of themselves - on and off their bike. We work with girls of all ages and abilities, using our comprehensive, age-appropriate curriculums that blend social-emotional learning with bike-handling techniques or life skills through bike skills. Our no-questions-asked scholarship policy provides financial support, bikes, and helmets to ensure every girl can ride with us.
We at Girls in Gear are looking for enthusiastic volunteers of all biking abilities and gender identities to lead our easy-to-follow curricula for our one-day, one-week, and eight-week programs in and around Park Slope. Now is the perfect time to give back and get involved - neither biking nor coaching experience is required. Girls in Gear is powered by dedicated volunteers in our communities who share our passion for getting more girls on bikes. Whether it’s learning to ride, fixing a flat, or leading a group ride, our program helps girls discover their inner strength, self-reliance, and leadership potential.
Not a rider? Not a problem. We welcome volunteers of all abilities and genders who share our passion for raising strong girls. All you need is a desire to inspire and support - we’ll handle the rest with training and resources to set you up for success, one mile at a time.
