At San Quentin SkunkWorks, we turn incarceration into innovation. As an outreach-focused volunteer, you will help bring top-tier professionals inside to collaborate with our incarcerated innovators-leaders working at the intersection of justice, creativity, and systemic change.

Your Mission: Find and Recruit the Changemakers

We need someone who will do the outreach-not someone who already has an extensive contact list. If you can send emails, follow up, and pitch an inspiring opportunity, you can do this. Your job is to connect the right people to this movement, ensuring that industry leaders, creatives, and policymakers engage with the groundbreaking work happening here.

What You’ll Do:

Outreach & Engagement - Research and reach out to potential speakers, mentors, and workshop leaders.

Recruit & Coordinate - Help professionals navigate the process of coming into San Quentin to contribute their expertise.

Grow Our Network - Cultivate new partnerships with organizations, universities, and industry leaders.

Shape the Narrative - Help tell the story of why SkunkWorks is a place people want to be.

A strategic communicator who knows how to send the right message to the right people.

Organized, persistent, and comfortable reaching out to people you don’t know (yet!).
