Are you looking for a way to boost your resume, learn new skills, and give back to those in need? Join the Elara Caring Hospice team and earn your Advanced Hospice Volunteer Certification in as just 40 hours of service!

Our Certified Advanced Hospice Volunteers earn their certification through the completion of 40 service hours completed from a minimum of two service categories. These service categories include Patient Companionship, Caregiver Respite, Healthcare Administration, Bereavement, Community Outreach, and Special Projects, with activities ranging from assisting a hospice team member (Registered Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, Medical Social Worker, Chaplain, Volunteer Coordinator) in the field to becoming a mentor to a new or teen volunteer. Completing your Advanced Hospice Volunteer certification is commemorated with a certificate of achievement and letter detailing your unique service experience, in addition to a small token of appreciation from your Volunteer Coordinator.

Starting your journey to becoming a Certified Advanced Hospice Volunteer is easy, all you need is:

  • Be 16 years of age or older
  • Reliable transportation
  • A valid Texas driver’s license or identification card
  • An open heart and mind

If you are able to volunteer for one hour a week and are interested in what hospice looks like as a volunteer, please reach out to branch Volunteer Coordinator, Grace Sewell, to start your application or have your questions answered.
