POSITION: Vendor & Exhibitor Experience Lead REPORTS TO: Pride Director, Community Engagement & Volunteer Manager SUMMARY: The Vendor & Exhibitor Experience Lead manages all aspects of vendor and exhibitor engagement for Sacramento Pride March & Festival. This strategic leadership role focuses on creating an exceptional and safe experience for vendors and exhibitors while ensuring all festival policies and safety procedures are followed. The Lead collaborates with the Pride Committee and volunteers to develop and execute logistical strategies that support a successful event. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Collaborate with the Pride Director to recruit a diverse and engaging group of vendors and exhibitors, including food vendors, artists, merchants, nonprofits, and activity providers, ensuring offerings appeal to a broad audience. 2. Manage SacPride’s EventHub system, ensuring vendor and exhibitor information is accurate and up to date. 3. Collect and organize required registration paperwork and documentation from vendors and exhibitors. 4. Assign booth spaces and coordinate with vendors to address specific needs, requests, or concerns. 5. Act as the primary point of contact for vendors during load-in, the festival, and load-out, ensuring access to power, water, waste disposal, and compliance with festival policies. 6. Develop and lead virtual training for booth holders, preparing them for festival operations and logistics. 7. Collaborate with the Festival Lead to establish and oversee an efficient volunteer system for booth setup (including numbering and placement), vendor check-in, and load-out processes. 8. Lead and support volunteers assigned to vendor operations, ensuring they are well-trained and equipped to fulfill their roles. 9. Contribute to the recruitment and onboarding of volunteers to ensure sufficient staffing for Sacramento Pride March & Festival. 10. Actively engage with Pride Committee members throughout planning, operational, and post-festival phases to align vendor logistics with the overall festival strategy. 11. Familiarize yourself with contingency and safety plans for all festival components, including food and beverage, accessibility, security, restrooms, Wi-Fi/IT, entertainment, and community involvement. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: 1. Strong commitment to the mission of the Sacramento LGBT Community Center and dedication to fostering a region where LGBTQ+ people thrive. 2. Experience working with LGBTQ+ communities and knowledge of issues relevant to LGBTQ+ individuals, with a demonstrated commitment to anti-racism and equity. 3. Understanding of the historical significance of Pride events for LGBTQ+ communities. 4. Proven ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds in an inclusive, intersectional environment. 5. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; experience in conflict resolution or mediation is a plus. 6. Experience coordinating vendors at festivals, trade shows, farmers markets, or similar events is highly desirable. 7. Successful experience managing and leading a team of 10 or more people is preferred. 8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive) and familiarity with database systems and social media tools. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 1. The person in this role will sit or stand for extended periods, navigate tight spaces, lift up to 50 pounds, and operate office equipment, ability to communicate effectively via telephone, handheld radio, and in-person. 2. Reasonable accommodation will be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. 3. Successful completion of a criminal history background check. 4. Adherence to the Sacramento LGBT Community Center’s drug-free workplace policy. 5. Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination is required prior to the first day of service.
