The Kern Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (KernBHRS) Crisis Hotline provides telephone and text-based crisis counseling services, suicide intervention, and referrals for immediate crisis services. Information about community-based resources is also provided when applicable. there are no eligibility requirements to access the Crisis Hotline and services are provided to all individuals that contact the hotline.
Kern BHRS is dedicated to assuring individuals receive the highest quality, most effective, and culturally appropriate combination of individualized treatment, education and support. All services are provided in a manner that is responsive to each individual's unique characteristics, needs, and abilities.

The mission of the Kern County Behavioral Health Board is to advocate for individuals and families living with mental illness and/or addiction by support and oversight of Kern Behavioral Health and Recovery Services and recommendations to the Board of Supervisors.
