About STEP NATION INC

Location:

49 MAGEE ST, CAMBRIDGE, MA 02139, US

Mission Statement

STEP Nation is a coalition of individuals and community organizations that work to serve families that are at or below the poverty level throughout Massachusetts. We work to address the health, welfare, and economic well-being of our communities through arts for social justice, culture and heritage research.

Description

STEP Nation was created to implement changes in our community through the establishment of community based health and wellness centers, therapeutic art programs, heritage research, cultural events and informational workshops. STEP Nation has three annual events: Patches Of Pain, a fashion show designed by youth who express their trauma, pain or disparities through fashion design; Praise The Bridge, a pilot program designed to promote health and wellness through the arts, bringing the aging population together; and Christmas On The Block, a holiday light display founded during the pandemic created from a collaboration of organizations that decided to develop an annual holiday event for undeserved neighborhoods across Boston.
