Become a Team Manager and Support Young Soccer Stars!
Love soccer but prefer to work behind the scenes? The Oakland Soccer Club is seeking enthusiastic and organized volunteer Team Managers to support our dedicated coaches and ensure a smooth and successful season for our players. As a Team Manager, you'll play a vital role in keeping our teams running efficiently, allowing our coaches to focus on what they do best: developing our young athletes.
What You'll Do:
- Master TeamSnap: Become the team's TeamSnap guru! You'll onboard parents to our communication platform, guide them through its features, and use it to keep everyone informed about practice and game schedules, locations, and important updates.
- Game Day Central: Communicate game details with opposing teams via GotSport, ensuring everyone is on the same page. Follow up with players to confirm their game availability and encourage timely arrival.
- Uniform Distribution: Help ensure all players receive their uniforms by coordinating with families regarding online orders and delivery.
- Team Organization: Handle the essential administrative tasks that keep the team functioning smoothly, freeing up our coaches to focus on player development and training. This includes managing player availability, communicating team schedules, and other organizational tasks as needed.
What We Offer:
- The satisfaction of contributing to a thriving soccer community and supporting young athletes.
- Comprehensive training and support from our Club Lead Manager to equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to excel in the role.
- A chance to work alongside dedicated coaches and families who share your passion for soccer.
- The opportunity to develop your organizational and communication skills.
What We're Looking For:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Comfort with technology and willingness to learn new platforms (TeamSnap, GotSport).
- Enthusiasm for soccer and a desire to support youth sports.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
No prior soccer experience is required! If you're a highly organized individual with a knack for communication and a desire to contribute to the success of our young soccer players, we encourage you to apply!

Mission Statement
A community first club, Oakland Soccer Club (OSC) exists to provide opportunities for people to develop through soccer regardless of playing ability, age, or economic resource. Committed to high level achievement both on and off the field, OSC seeks to support its members as they strive to succeed in sport, school and life. In working closely with our partners we desire to implement safe spaces, including parks and green space for recreational and athletic play, in order to build social capital and strengthen the bonds of our community.
Description
Oakland Soccer Club has been putting youth from our most underserved communities on fields throughout Oakland since 1974. Over the decades, OSC has served numerous generations of players positively thru providing access and inclusion to sport. OSC, along with its community, have endured through the well documented and historical challenges that marginalized peoples of color have often faced in Oakland and through that history has remained steadfast in its service to the youth and families of our town.
To this day, many underserved Oakland youth face a myriad of social and economic stressors which negatively affect their daily living. Our program works with players to build life skills to equip our members with tools with which to counteract the daily challenges that face in their day to day lives. Through helping them to negate some of these socio and economic stressors, participation in our program helps players to address feelings of incompetence, social disconnectedness, and negative experiences with social institutions in their communities. Through developing these various emotional, cognitive and interpersonal life skills and competencies, OSC seeks to ensure that Oakland youth are positioned to succeed both on and off the field.
We are 100 percent committed to leveling the playing field for the underserved players we serve.
