We are Mentor A Promise (the "MAP") a nonprofit organization providing social emotional learning, academic support and mentorship services to students experiencing housing instability in NYC.
Come join us at MAP, you are a social emotional learning (the "SEL") specialist. What You’ll Do at MAP:- Implement social-emotional learning (SEL) curriculum through explicit instruction to our Mentors
- Drive collection and analysis of data related to SEL intervention program and implement improvements based on data, feedback and observation;
- Work with our Mentors in positive and creative ways that encourage teamwork;
- Attend our weekly meetings to discuss best practices
- Bachelor’s degree, required;
- Enrollment in, or Master’s degree from, MSW, MHC, or MSEd in Counseling, preferred;
- Exhibit a strong belief that explicit and embedded SEL competency-building positively impacts academic achievement;
- Strong written and oral communication skills;
- Excellent organizational and problem solving skills;
- A strong belief in the mission and values of MAP including the desire to make a difference in the lives of our students, families, and community

Mentor A Promise is a non-profit organization, and our mission is to provide socio-emotional learning, academic support, and mentorship to students in temporary housing and facing housing instability.
Description
We partner with family temporary housing sites across New York, educational institutions, and community organizations to create a strong support network for young people experiencing homelessness, helping them overcome challenges and forge their own path to success. We connect students with our mentors for in-person and online programs.
