ORGANIZATION: USDA Forest Service

The St. Joe Ranger District is seeking a Campground Host (single or a couple) to provide visitor information and help maintain the campground and facilities. Duties include performing facility maintenance such as sweeping, cleaning/stocking the 2 vault toilets, emptying trash, staining, weed eating and lawn care. Additionally, the host will maintain visitor information such as brochures, inform visitors of campground rules, and maintain a record of use at the campground, and may be asked to perform same duties at 2 other adjacent campgrounds located approximately 3 miles away. These duties are expected to be performed Thursday through Monday from 10 am to 6 pm.


Turner Flat Campground features 10 camp units, 1 group (15 people), potable water (by hand pump), 2 vault toilets and is the closest campground to the Allen Ridge Trailhead which features a swinging bridge spanning across the St. Joe River. Turner Flat Campground is located approximately 8 miles east of Avery, Idaho on Forest Highway 50.


Training will be provided to complete tasks to Forest Service maintenance and safety standards. Expenses may be reimbursed for travel and volunteer time and duties.
