The USATF Oregon Association needs volunteers. We annually organize the Association's Junior Olympic Track and Field meet for youth ages 7-18. Athletes who qualify in their respective events can go on to compete in the Regional Junior Olympics where they can qualify for the USATF National Junior Olympics. (Two years ago the National JO was held at Hayward Field, this year in Greensboro, NC). The Association's meet is June 26-29, 2025. The meet will have upwards of 400 athletes. Athletes compete in two year age groups i.e., 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, etc. Because of the many age groups for each event we need many volunteers to assist the USATF certified officials in conducting the events, and in other areas, hurdle crew, athlete and volunteer check-in, assisting the meet clerk, etc. Here is a list of some of the volunteer opportunities: Volunteer check-in/packet picku, high jump, hurdle crew, clerk assistant, start area/blocks,finish area, long jump, pole vault, shot puy, discus, javelin, water/refreshments crew. Volunteers must either be USATF 3-Step Safe Sport compliant (USATF member, USATF background screening and complete Safe Sport training) or complete a USATF Safe Sport waiver when they check in to volunteer.
