SoulPhamm is recruiting up to two young ladies who are current high school students to become Cheerleading Team Assistants (TAs) for Purple Reign, our cheerleading/stomp & shake program serving young girls ages 12-18. TAs MUST be able to attend the team’s practices in Downtown Newark every Saturday (12:30pm to 3:30pm) until June 21 st.

Teaching Assistants (TAs) support our Coaches by managing essential administrative and operational tasks. Their responsibilities include monitoring team participation through attendance tracking and monitoring absence notifications in our online chat group.

On the practice floor, TAs collaborate with Coaches to execute drills by managing timers, setting up skill stations, and handling equipment breakdown. They maintain oversight of team equipment, and ensure cheerleaders collect all their belongings after practice sessions and performances. TAs also manage our digital presence by capturing practice photos and videos for the team's online locker room. Beyond these specific duties, TAs provide additional administrative support to Coaches as needed, which may include facilitating online practices for the team.

TAs can receive community service hours for every virtual and in-person event that they participate in and will receive a reference letter at the end of their service in June.

No phone calls please.

About SoulPhamm Inc

Location:

7000 Hadley Road, Suite 1177, South Plainfield, NJ 07080, US

Mission Statement

Our mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of young people by providing unique artistic and athletic experiences and performances, and to assist them in achieving the highest standards of professionalism through the development of discipline, skill, confidence, cooperation, leadership, responsibility and character.

Description

Our vision is to promote virtue, equity, unity, justice, faith, charity and a sense of common purpose and brotherhood among all people with an emphasis on the development and advancement of young people through education, athletics, service and the arts.

SoulPhamm was incorporated as a nonprofit organization in the state of New Jersey on June 25, 2021 and is the "birth-child" of Coach Luis ("Lou") and Dr. Leisa Herrera ("Mz. Doc"). The organization exists to provide training to young people in a variety of sports and performing arts and unique opportunities to display those talents through competition and performance. By integrating mentoring, life skills, opportunities for community service and academic enrichment to the athletic/artistic program, we help make our scholar-athletes as well-rounded as possible, capable of meeting and overcoming any challenges they are faced with. Although Coach Lou passed away suddenly in January 2021, the official launch of SoulPhamm was held on June 26, 2021, which coincided with his birthday weekend. SoulPhamm will recognize its own founding, as well as the achievements of our young people every year on the fourth Saturday of June, as a tribute to the life and legacy of Coach Lou.
