Special Olympics North Carolina is looking for a dedicated Local Program Coordinator in Pender County to help bring sports training and competition opportunities to athletes with intellectual disabilities. This leadership role is essential in managing and growing local programs by organizing events, recruiting and supporting volunteers, and ensuring every local athlete has a chance to shine.
What You’ll Do:- Oversee local Special Olympics NC activities, including training, competitions, and fundraising
- Recruit, train, and manage volunteers and local committee members
- Ensure compliance with Special Olympics NC policies and maintain athlete records
- Plan and report on local program activities and budgets
- Serve as the key liaison between your community and Special Olympics NC
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience in nonprofit or sports organizations is a plus
- Ability to manage volunteers and delegate effectively
- Must have or be able to obtain a valid NC Driver’s License
1-2 days per week as needed, dependent on the SONC events schedule.
