Special Olympics NC Needs English-to-Spanish Translators

Bi-lingual English/Spanish speakers needed to help translate documents for our athletes and their families who prefer key Special Olympics NC documents in their native language. Use your dual-language skills to help a great cause!

Duties / Responsibilities:
As an English-to-Spanish translator you will:

  • Translate our fitness documents and/or verify others that have been translated.
  • The frequency and duration of translation projects will vary based on need.

Experience / Education Requirements:

  • Spanish native or near-native speaker
  • Experience as an English-to-Spanish translator:
    • Please provide two examples of translation from English-to-Spanish.
    • Contact information of references with other organizations.
    • Proofreading skills (attention to detail/grammar).
  • Experience with project management, file-sharing software
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Must have the ability to meet deadlines, work independently and collaboratively, to coordinate projects, and possess a strong work ethic.
  • Experience with health or fitness materials a plus
  • Experience with and access to Adobe Acrobat is a plus

Special Olympics North Carolina is looking to provide materials to athletes and their families whose first language is Spanish, In North Carolina, most of our Spanish speakers are from Mexico or Central America and we would like our documents to be tailored to those audiences.
