Social Isolation is worse than most people think...it can contribute to additional long term health consequences without us even knowing. At Sanctuary Hospice our volunteers provide companionship, support and encouragement to patients and families when it's needed most. NOW more than ever, we need your help to connect with and support our patients.

Committed individuals 18 years or older interested in learning how they can help hospice patients and their families through in person volunteering in Northeast Ohio (Cleveland/Canfield/Youngstown) a few hours weekly are welcome. Volunteering for hospice is flexible, to fit an individual’s schedule and interests.

Sanctuary pledges to provide expert hospice care for the comfort and dignity of the terminally ill by addressing their individual physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Description
Hospice Volunteers come from all walks of life, yet they all share a common desire-to enrich their own lives and the lives of others by giving generously of their time, energy and talents. Volunteers are an integral part of our hospice team. Once trained they may work in several areas: Administrative, Direct Patient Care Visitation for companionship and support, Bereavement support, Pet therapy, Music Therapy and many other Special Alternative Complementary services.
