Summary: Exponents is currently seeking a volunteer Fundraising Assistant. This volunteer position is an opportunity for someone to jump into working directly with donors and helping manage Bloomerang, our Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) database. Please note this is role consists of 4 days in the office, weekdays except Thursdays. This position is based at Exponents’ headquarters in Battery Park, Manhattan.
Responsibilities include:
- Creating, updating and maintaining donor file- hard copies and electronically.
- Process donations, mailed checked, and other methods of donations when necessary.
- Edit and update donor profile in Bloomerang.
- Review and edit thank you letters and other correspondences to donors
- Assist Director of Fundraising in scheduling meetings and events
- Assist Director of Fundraising in setting up site -visits and donor tours
- Be in communication with other offices, when needed, to verify donations or donor information.
- Work with Director of Fundraising to prepare weekly and bi-weekly reports for reconciliation with finance.
- Design products using Canva.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in Humanities, Business, or Social Science required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with desktop publishing
- Experience designing in Canva
- High attention to detail

Exponents is dedicated to creating and conducting peer driven HIV/AIDS, substance abuse and quality of life training programs with a harm reduction orientation for substance abusers and their families throughout New York City.
Exponents’ mission is to assist individuals and families with difficult transitions:
from addiction to recovery; from incarceration to civilian life; and from welfare to work.
