ORGANIZATION: National Park Service

Flight 93 National Memorial is seeking local commuting area volunteers willing to use their passion for history, education, and customer service to help us share the powerful story of the passengers and crew members of Flight 93 with visitors from around the world.


Minimum Time Requirements


2-4 hours per week or every two weeks is preferred.


Locations


Visitor Center, Memorial Plaza, and Tower of Voices


Duties


Greet visitors, answer their questions, and provide them with basic orientation


Provide informal and/or formal interpretation on topics such as Flight 93, the Memorial design, and the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001


Ensure brochures and other materials are properly stocked


Utilize safety procedures and follow established safety rules and regulations


Assist with orientation, crowd monitoring, and setup/breakdown for large scale events


Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities


Experience with, or ability to perform information desk work, office/clerical, tour guide/interpretation, visitor information, light housekeeping, and general assistance


Must be comfortable speaking to individuals and groups of people. Must work well with others and be an active part of our team


Knowledge of the area and subject matter are preferred, but not required


Able to help with special events


Physical Demands


This position requires light physical work. Long periods of sitting, standing, or bending may be required
