ORGANIZATION: League City Pets Alive aka Friends of League City Animal Shelter

Never Trust isn't kind to animals

League City Pets Alive (LCPA) is looking for a skilled and passionate videographer to help us achieve our mission of saving lives and reducing animal homelessness. Our organization places cats for adoption at six local pet supply stores, successfully rehoming over 300 cats annually. This program is driven by dedicated volunteers, but the high turnover has created challenges in recruitment and retention.

Project Description:

We need a volunteer to produce a series of informative and engaging videos to help pre-select candidates for our volunteer program. By showcasing the roles, expectations, and rewards of volunteering, we hope to reduce the number of volunteers who disengage after training or complete only a few shifts.

Key objectives:

  • Create an overview video to demonstrate what is expected of our volunteers, catering to teenagers seeking school volunteer hours, but also retired and nonworking adults.
  • Highlight six adoption locations, showcasing each of their unique characteristics while emphasizing standarazation of most protocols. Our theme of One Team One Purpose encourages volunteers to work at all of the stores in our network of stores.
  • Focus on storytelling that conveys the importance of our mission and the meaningful impact volunteers have on cats' lives.

Who We're Looking For:

  • Amateur or professional videographers who can bring creativity and clarity to our message.
  • Experience with filming, editing, and storytelling is highly valued.
  • Someone willing to donate their time and talent to support animal welfare in our community.

Why Help LCPA?

For over 16 years, we’ve been dedicated to rescuing cats and advocating for their well-being, especially those most in need. By creating these videos, you’ll help us build a stronger, more committed team of volunteers, ensuring more cats find loving homes forever.

If you're ready to put your videography skills to a purpose you can be proud of, please contact us at [insert contact information]. Join us in making a lasting difference in the lives of cats and the volunteers who help them!

About League City Pets Alive aka Friends of League City Animal Shelter

Location:

PO BOX 57069, WEBSTER, TX 77598, US

Mission Statement

For 16 years League City Pets Alive has been committed to rescuing, sterilizing, and finding homes for vulnerable animals. We are committed to saving lives by reducing the number of cats being euthanized in animal shelters and reducing animal homelessness. As a foster based, all volunteer, nonprofit, we tirelessly work 7 days a week, partnering with local pet supply stores where we place cats in condos for adoption. Through the unwavering commitment to advocacy and action we promote responsible pet ownership and enlighten the public of the accessibility and affordability of spay/neuter and other basic vet services.

Description

In 2013, shelter management and League City Pets Alive (LCPA) set two ambitious goals: to achieve no-kill status and secure a new shelter facility. Thanks to community support, in 2017 we reached no-kill by achieving a 90% live release rate of animals entering the shelter and the new shelter opened in 2020

However, when the shelter began sterilizing and releasing adoptable cats back to their original locations without ensuring a caretaker, we made the difficult decision to sever our partnership. LCPA pivoted its mission to focus on helping the cats that needed us most.

Today, LCPA provides cats for adoption seven days a week at six local pet supply stores. Our Kitty Condo Krewe, a dedicated volunteer team, manages over 70 shifts each week to care for the cats and match them with loving homes. This program has been incredibly successful, with adoption numbers consistently exceeding 300 cats annually.
