Camp No Worries (Tabernacle, NJ) is a volunteer-run one-week overnight camp for children (ages 6-16) diagnosed with cancer or supporting a sibling who has been affected. Camp is provided at no cost to their families, funded entirely through donations. Camp provides them an opportunity to participate in the traditional summer camp experience (swimming, boating, arts & crafts, archery, etc.) and a chance to "just be kids", separate from the focus on their diagnosis.

As a volunteer-run organization, Camp No Worries is also governed by a volunteer-run Board of Directors who assists with advising on all aspects of running a 501(c)3 organization such as finance, marketing, risk management, legal, food services and more.

The position we are currently looking for is a Board Secretary to take on the following duties:

SPECIFIC DUTIES

  • Manage and record accurate records of all Camp No Worries documents/meetings.
  • Maintain accurate minutes at meetings and distribute them to the Board of Directors for approval.
  • Assist in fundraising events, maintain correspondence with event hosts.
  • Secure yearly contracts, and insurance policies for the current year and prepare for Executive Director review and signatures.
  • Update supplies as needed (letterhead, brochures, envelopes, business cards, thank you cards)
  • Work with Camp No Worries Operations teams to update the budget for the current year.
  • Work along with Bookkeeper and Administrative support in providing thank you letters to donors.
  • Assist Fundraising Chair with the annual "ask" letter, mailings and needs for raffle licensing.
  • Accurate tracking on all license renewals (i.e., Raffle license)
  • Assist Board Treasurer and Bookkeeper by providing documents necessary for the annual 990 tax preparation.
  • Update donation database regularly to maintain accurate information.
