Founded in 2013, CCLA is a grassroots organization dedicated to defending civil liberties and personal freedoms guaranteed by the California and U.S. Constitutions.   • Privacy Protections: Co-sponsored SB 34 & SB 741 (2015) to regulate ALPRs and stingray devices.
  • Fair Housing: Helped pass AB 686 (2017) to combat housing discrimination.
  • Law Enforcement Transparency: Backed AB 748 (2017) for timely body camera footage release.
  • Discrimination: Lobbied for the CROWN Act (SB 188, 2019) to ban race-based hair discrimination.
  • Sentencing Reform: Supported SB 73 (2021) to address inequities in drug offense sentencing.
