Volunteer, Nonprofit Marketing Specialist:
Assist ME, Charlotte, NC

Time Commitment:
Approximately 2-6 hours flexible hours per week

Assist ME, a nonprofit dedicated to providing gently used medical equipment to low-income, uninsured patients, is seeking a passionate marketing and communications volunteer coordinator to join our team. Help us amplify our mission and reach more individuals in need! This flexible, remote*, part-time volunteer position offers an excellent opportunity to showcase your experience while making a significant impact in a broad community.

*Living within the Eastern or Central Time Zone is required for communications and periodic meetings.


Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with board members on marketing strategies to promote events, fundraising campaigns, speaking events and targeted initiatives
* Create compelling print collateral, digital marketing and web media to promote our services and mission
* Develop engaging content for monthly newsletter, compelling presentations and web copy content
* Support the coordination of fundraising events and community outreach programs

Qualifications:
* Passion for healthcare accessibility and community service
* Strong writing and graphic design skills with experience in Adobe Photoshop, Canva and other design programs
* Experience with email marketing apps and CMS platforms
* Ability to work independently, as a team player, and maintain timelines and deadlines

* Maintain consistent design and messaging

* Attend 2-4 minimum meetings per month
* Report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
* Ability to learn and adapt to new platforms quickly
* Strong grammar and writing skills (AP Style preferred) with high attention to detail
* Ability to communicate in a timely, organized, friendly and engaging manner

* At least 5 years’ full-time collective experience in Marketing and Communications
* WordPress and nonprofit experience a plus, but not required

Our goal is to establish Assist M.E. as the go-to organization for advocacy on behalf of and providing assistance to individuals with mobility disabilities in the Charlotte/Mecklenburg community.

Description

Assist ME takes in gently used medical equipment, such as standard manual wheelchairs, bedside commodes, tub transfer benches, shower chairs, etc. ), clean them up and gift them to low income, uninsured patients. When patients have this type of equipment, they fall less often and are readmitted to hospitals less often.
