As part of our podcast, you will be getting into contact with neurodivergent people, the people that work with them, and their parents for an interview. You will be creating questions to ask the interviewee, and you will host a virtual meeting for the actual interview. After the meeting is over and recorded, you will edit and upload our podcast onto our Spotify and other platforms.

About Welcome Neurodiversity

Location:

189 6th Street, Cresskill, NJ 07626, US

Mission Statement

Welcome Neurodiversity aims to provide musical, social, recreational, and educational opportunities for neurodivergent people and to reduce the stigma around neurodiversity.

Description

Our music program, Melodies in Motion, teaches music through games and lessons to neurodivergent individuals - the students get to try different instruments, learn more about rhythm and melodies, and play music games. We want to spread our passion for music and grow their appreciation for music and their knowledge of the realm of music. Our "Munch Mates" program provides social opportunities for neurodiverse people and "Play Pals" includes recreational activities such as sports and indoor games. We also have a tutoring and music education program that gives one-on-one lessons in academics and instrumentals to neurodiverse children. Our podcast, All Kinds of Minds: Neurodiversity in Our World, aims to reduce the stigma around neurodiversity by interviewing neurodivergent individuals, their parents, and the people that work with them. In sharing what neurodiversity is like and getting rid of common misperceptions, we are breaking down the stigma that surrounds neurodiversity. Our newsletter and social media pages highlight individual neurodivergent individuals, their accomplishments and brilliance, our activities, and more about neurodevelopmental disabilities. In spreading awareness about neurodiversity, we hope to reach a point where neurodiverse individuals are treated equally and given equal opportunities to thrive and have fun.
