The Stuyvesant Park Neighborhood Association (SPNA) seeks an experienced, dedicated, and enthusiastic Volunteer Gardener to help oversee and coordinate gardening efforts in the West Park. This part-time role includes a small stipend and provides a fantastic opportunity to contribute to beautifying and caring for a beloved neighborhood space.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the NYC Parks Department to oversee and implement garden bed replanting plans for the West Park in 2025.

• Coordinate and supervise volunteer gardening efforts to ensure proper execution of the replanting plans.

• Act as a liaison between SPNA and NYC Parks, ensuring clear communication and adherence to plans.

• Provide a short, engaging volunteer gardening update or tip for inclusion in SPNA’s weekly newsletter.

Qualifications:

• Experience in gardening, horticulture, or a related field is preferred.

• Strong organizational and communication skills.

• Ability to lead and work collaboratively with volunteers.

• Passion for community engagement and urban green spaces.

This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the Stuyvesant Park community while working with a team of passionate volunteers.

Time Commitment: Approximately 2-5 hours per week.

Compensation:

This is a volunteer position with a small stipend provided as a token of appreciation for your contributions.
