The Stuyvesant Park Neighborhood Association (SPNA) seeks an experienced, dedicated, and enthusiastic Volunteer Gardener to help oversee and coordinate gardening efforts in the West Park. This part-time role includes a small stipend and provides a fantastic opportunity to contribute to beautifying and caring for a beloved neighborhood space.
Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with the NYC Parks Department to oversee and implement garden bed replanting plans for the West Park in 2025.
Coordinate and supervise volunteer gardening efforts to ensure proper execution of the replanting plans.
Act as a liaison between SPNA and NYC Parks, ensuring clear communication and adherence to plans.
Provide a short, engaging volunteer gardening update or tip for inclusion in SPNA’s weekly newsletter.
Qualifications:
Experience in gardening, horticulture, or a related field is preferred.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to lead and work collaboratively with volunteers.
Passion for community engagement and urban green spaces.
This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the Stuyvesant Park community while working with a team of passionate volunteers.
Time Commitment: Approximately 2-5 hours per week.
Compensation:
This is a volunteer position with a small stipend provided as a token of appreciation for your contributions.
