Circles in Columbus - an Ministry of Open Door Community House - is looking for kind people.

Individuals who choose to participate in the Circles program do so because they want to make changes in their life. For them, it is a 2 years commitment which includes small group disusccions, one on one coaching, and the support of people who truly want to see them succeed on their journey out of poverty. Long term change needs lots of encouragement.

Special skills needed:

  • Time
  • Ability to Listen
  • Ability to connect and appreciate
  • Willingness to become an intentional friend

Time requirments:

  • Tuesday evenings dinner and program/discussion
    • As many as you can make - First week of each month is very important
  • Text or call each week to see how your new friend is doing
  • Availability to meet once a month away from the weekly meetings
    • Go for walks
    • Grab coffee together
    • Meet them at the park and together watch their children play
    • Make Christmas cookies together (there is a story here)
