As a Workshop Facilitator for Bridging Beyond , you will be responsible for leading workshops that promote empathy and understanding between individuals from different backgrounds and perspectives. Your role will involve guiding participants through discussions and interactive exercises, helping them engage with one another in ways that challenge assumptions and build connections.
In addition to facilitating workshops, you may choose to contribute to the development and customisation of workshops to suit specific audiences, time constraints, or physical settings. Workshops typically last between 1.5 to 2 hours and may be held on weekdays or weekends, either during the day or in the evenings, providing flexible opportunities for involvement.
This role offers a meaningful way to support Bridging Beyond’s mission of building stronger, more inclusive communities through dialogue and shared understanding.
At the heart of Bridging Beyond’s work is the facilitation of workshops designed to foster empathy and understanding between individuals from different backgrounds. These workshops offer participants the opportunity to engage with people they might otherwise hold negative judgments or suspicions about, creating a space for meaningful dialogue and personal growth. By participating in these experiences, individuals often find their perspectives shifting-not only toward specific individuals but also toward entire communities.
This work is vital to addressing the divisions and conflicts that exist in society. By promoting care, trust, and understanding, we take important steps toward reducing hatred and division, helping build more cohesive and peaceful communities on both personal and national levels.

Skills and Experience:
Facilitation Skills - Some experience in facilitating workshops or group discussions is required, as you will often be working without direct supervision. However, there will be opportunities to further develop and refine your facilitation skills through the role.
Communication Skills - You are able to communicate clearly and effectively, helping participants feel heard and engaged in the discussion.
Organisational Skills - You can manage time effectively during workshops, ensuring that discussions and activities stay on track.

Mission Statement
We cultivate empathy and understanding across differences.
Description
Our vision
Our vision is to help people live more connected, satisfying, caring lives in community.
Our strategy
To achieve our bold goals, we approach 'bridging’ with a scientific point of view. Our methods are rooted in research showing that empathy is a key driver of social cohesion and trust. By fostering active listening, curiosity, and compassionate dialogue, we help individuals and groups challenge biases, reduce conflict, and build bridges across divides.
Based on the findings of our research team, we have developed a series of workshops with specific methodologies towards building empathy. We are offering these workshops together with strategic partners in different communities based in the London boroughs of Hackney and Islington.
