ORGANIZATION: National Park Service

Duties:

Visitor Services Volunteers assist people with their visit to President’s Park and the White House Visitor Center (WHVC).

· Greet visitors

· Answer visitor questions about the White House tour process

· Provide information about the general local area

· Distribute President’s Park Junior Ranger booklets

· Assist with crowd control during busy times

· Record visitor count in log book

· Inform ranger staff about suspicious activity

· Answer visitor questions about WHVC features

· Provide informal talks to visitors as you walk around the WHVC

· If desired, provide interpretative talks or presentations

Qualifications:

· Must complete a federal background check

· Willingness to go to annual training

· Willingness to talk to visitors

· Calm demeanor and ability to maintain order

· Interest in learning about President’s Park to help visitors

· Interest in history is a plus, but no prior knowledge is required-- we’ll teach you!

Schedule and Time Commitment:

Any day Monday-Saturday; either 8:00am-12:00pm or 12:00pm-4:00pm. One or two shifts per week.
