Diamond Lake Gatehouse Attendant - Umpqua National Forest

ORGANIZATION: USDA Forest Service

The Diamond Lake Campground Gatehouse located at the entrance/exit of the historic Diamond Lake Campground, serves as the hub for campground operations in the Diamond Lake area. Gatehouse volunteers will assist the public with check in and check out procedures, answer questions regarding reservations, campground policies, and regulations. Gatehouse volunteers will occasionally help campground hosts and Forest Service recreation team with picking up litter, restocking toilet paper, and light grounds maintenance. They need to possess effective oral and written communication skills, exceptional customer service skills, and have a helpful and team-oriented personality. Gatehouse volunteers are expected to follow agency policies regarding cash handling procedures and must be competent in using computers and internet programs to facilitate reservations. Gatehouse volunteers will work closely with campground hosts and Forest Service personnel to relay information about maintenance problems or other conflicts. Volunteers must be able to bend, lift, and walk comfortably. Ability to use tools such as rakes, brooms, pruners, and shovels is preferred, but not required.
