Short description:
The MANA (Marines Army Navy Air Force) Donation Room Organizer provides essential support to the staff and residents at MANA House by keeping the donation room organized and clean. The primary responsibility of the Donation Room Organizer is to receive, sort, and organize all incoming donation and keep inventory of the items.
**Please Note: Date/Time does not reflect actual volunteer hours. Volunteer schedules will be coordinated with supervisor, following the onboarding process. You will receive an APPROVAL email upon completion.
Hours: Day/hours are flexible during Monday - Friday business hours, to be determined by the supervisor upon approval
Time Commitment: 1-2 times per week (Monday-Friday), 4 hours per day. 5-10 hours per week
Summary: The Catholic Charities-MANA House Volunteer assists the Community Engagement Coordinator in collaboration with agency programs, corporate, faith based and community outreach efforts agencies for the solicitation of in-kind goods. Particularly focusing on building relationships with volunteers, local community partners, and service providers. Closely work with MANA House team members to assist in overall coordination of services and opportunities to implement and administer effective outreach programs and events to increase engagement initiatives for our Veterans at MANA House.
Security Level 2: Sterling’s Advanced (L2) Background Check, two (2) Reference Checks.
Tasks: Assist the Community Engagement Coordinator with the following:
Researches and cultivates relationships with individual and corporate donors and community agencies for the solicitation of in-kind goods.
Communicates with potential donors regarding items to be donated, as well as planned delivery of said items.
Exercises discretion regarding acceptance and/or disposition of donated goods and maintains donor relationship through attentive customer service.
Completes donation paperwork or In-Kind Donation Receipt for donors.
Works with clients who request items from MANA House’s donation center.
Monitors the donation center to ensure organization and cleanliness.
Facilitates logistics related to delivery of extra donations to other shelter sites or agencies. Acknowledges volunteer in-kind and financial donations in a timely manner.
Meets regularly with Community Engagement Coordinator to review and assess donation needs.
Requirements: Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with moderate interruptions. Lift up to 25-40 pounds on a regular basis, stand on your feet for long periods of time. Work a flexible schedule, including holidays and weekends.

Our office serves to connect volunteers with different opportunities across the valley. These opportunities serve our many different sites which work with different vulnerable populations including refugees, pregnant teens, and children in foster care.
