We're looking for a bookkeeper to maintain accurate financial records for our nonprofit organization. This role includes recording and tracking financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and assisting with budgeting and reporting. The bookkeeper will ensure that the nonprofit complies with financial regulations and helps provide transparent financial data to support the organization's mission. A strong preference will be given to candidates skilled in Quickbooks and passionate about supporting our mission and values. The right candidate will become a board member after the probation period. You must be located in the United States to be considered .
Key Responsibilities:
- Record and categorize all financial transactions in Quickbooks (e.g., income, expenses, donations).
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements regularly.
- Assist with preparing basic monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for the board and executive director.
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable to ensure timely payments and receipts.
- Help with the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Maintain accurate records for tax purposes and assist with year-end audits as needed.
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit financial regulations and best practices.
- Assist participants with payments and balance inquiries
- Ability to reconcile accounts monthly
Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
- Working knowledge and at least six months of experience with Quickbooks
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
- Passion for supporting the nonprofit's mission and goals.
- Previous experience in bookkeeping or finance (volunteer or professional) is preferred.
- Willing to become a working member of the board

Mission Addiction was founded by a business consultant and faith leader in January, 2017.
