Brush Clean Up at El Sereno Community Garden

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: L.A. Works

Are you ready to roll up your sleeves and make a difference? Join us for a Brush Clearing Day at El Sereno Community Garden as part of our post-windstorm recovery efforts. Together, we'll clean up the space following the recent fires and high winds that impacted our area.

Why: By participating, you'll:

Support vital community efforts to clear debris from the garden for a resilient native plant ecosystem.

Help build a greener, more connected community while addressing the ecological aftermath of the firestorm.

Who: The El Sereno Community Garden is more than a garden--it's a hub for environmental education, collaboration, and sustainability, as well as a place for community gathering.

What to Expect: This hands-on event will focus on clearing brush and debris to restore the garden area and general garden support depending on immediate needs.

What's Required:

Time/shift commitment: 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Physical demands: Ability to be in the sun for several hours.

Safety protocols:

Wear an N-95 or P-100 mask to protect against ash and particulates.

At a minimum, wear gloves, long-sleeved shirts, long pants, sturdy close-toed shoes (ie: boots), and socks to avoid skin contact if there is ash.

Make sure to bring a filled water bottle and sun protection (sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, etc).

A positive attitude and readiness to work outdoors!
