Internship Opportunity: Program Coordinator (Operations & Logistics)
Location: Remote (with potential for in-person meetings in Tampa, FL if applicable)
Duration: Spring 2025 (February - April) and Fall 2025 (August - November)
Hours: 10-15 hours per week
Compensation: Unpaid (academic credit available)
The Teen Mom Project is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing teenage mothers with the support, resources, and tools they need to transition into motherhood and achieve self-sufficiency. Through our mentorship program, Her Next Move, we offer workshops in financial literacy, career development, mental health, and continued education. Our mission is to break the cycle of poverty and empower young mothers to build brighter futures for themselves and their children.
Position OverviewWe are seeking an organized and motivated Program Coordinator Intern to support the planning and execution of our Her Next Move mentorship program and annual events. The intern will work closely with our leadership team to manage program logistics, track participant progress, and coordinate outreach efforts.
Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Coordination:
- Assist with the planning and execution of our 12-week mentorship program.
- Develop and maintain program schedules, materials, and communication plans.
- Track participant attendance and progress throughout the program.
Operations Support:
- Document standard operating procedures (SOPs) to support program consistency.
- Assist in scheduling and coordinating guest speakers, workshops, and events.
- Organize program materials, including participant workbooks and resource guides.
Community Outreach & Engagement:
- Communicate with program participants, mentors, and community partners.
Event Planning:
- Assist in coordinating logistics for annual events such as our June Gala and December Christmas Drive.
- Coordinate volunteer assignments and event materials.
We’re looking for candidates who are:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Nonprofit Management, Social Work, Business Administration, Event Planning, or a related field.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Passionate about social impact and supporting young mothers.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a virtual setting.
- Gain hands-on experience in nonprofit program management and event planning.
- Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of teen moms.
- Work with a passionate and supportive team.
- Potential for future paid opportunities based on performance and funding.
- Academic credit may be available depending on school requirements.
