Position Overview:

The Volunteer Grant Writer will play a critical role in supporting [Organization Name]'s mission by identifying funding opportunities, drafting compelling grant proposals, and securing financial support from foundations, corporations, and other granting organizations. This role is ideal for someone passionate about nonprofit work, skilled in persuasive writing, and eager to make a meaningful impact.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Research and Identify Funding Opportunities:

    • Conduct research to identify prospective grants from foundations, corporations, and government entities.
    • Maintain a database of grant opportunities, including deadlines and application guidelines.
  2. Proposal Writing and Submission:

    • Write and edit clear, structured, and persuasive grant proposals tailored to specific funders.
    • Work with relevant staff to gather necessary data and documentation for proposals.
    • Submit proposals in adherence to deadlines and application guidelines.
  3. Collaboration and Reporting:

    • Collaborate with staff to align proposals with the organization’s goals, programs, and mission.
    • Prepare post-grant reports, including updates on how funds are being used and program outcomes.
  4. Grant Management Support:

    • Assist in tracking the progress of submitted proposals and follow up with funders as needed.
    • Maintain records of past and current grant applications, awards, and reporting requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in grant writing, fundraising, or persuasive writing (professional or volunteer).
  • Strong research skills with the ability to identify appropriate grant opportunities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit funding and operations is a plus.

Believet was organized in 2015 with the mission of helping disabled US Military veterans. Since that time, we have equipped 50 veterans with service dogs.
