Join the Cultural Resources team at Fort Vancouver National Historic Site! We are seeking detail-oriented and enthusiastic archaeology volunteers to work on site with National Park Service staff and partners from Portland State University. The main duties of the position include cleaning and analysis of pre-contact and historic era artifacts of various material types.
Available shifts will change each academic quarter. For Spring 2025, volunteer opportunities are available Tuesdays between 1pm and 4pm and Thursdays between 9am and 12pm. A commitment of at least 2 hours per week is required. Specialized training will be provided and no prior experience in archaeology is needed.
After working 100 hours in the archaeology lab, volunteers may be eligible to assist with field work, including pedestrian survey, testing, or data recovery projects.
