Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate, results-driven individual to volunteer as a Speaker for our Pathway to Success Seminar. This role is perfect for someone who is committed to helping participants, especially young mothers, enhance their job readiness skills and prepare for entering or re-entering the workforce. As a Volunteer Speaker, you will lead a 45 minutes session focused on equipping participants with the skills needed to build a strong resume, ace interviews, identify transferable skills, and explore career opportunities that align with their personal strengths and interests.
We’re looking for a passionate, results-driven individual with:
Experience in career development, job coaching, or human resources, particularly for young mothers or underserved populations.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and connect with diverse audiences.
Knowledge of resume building, interview techniques, and career exploration.
Ability to help participants identify transferable skills and build confidence in their professional abilities.
Organizational skills to deliver a clear, structured 1-hour session with actionable advice and practical exercises.
A commitment to South Project’s mission of empowering young mothers to achieve career success and financial independence.
Nice to have:
Background in career coaching, human resources, or workforce development.
Experience working with young mothers or underserved populations.
Previous experience delivering workshops or group training sessions focused on career development, job readiness, or resume building.
A passion for helping others unlock their potential and succeed in their career journeys.
Time Commitment:
2-3 hours for preparation and content creation.
1-hour presentation during the Pathway to Success Seminar

South Project is a support based nonprofit dedicated to empowering young mothers, under 30 years old, by providing mentorship, educational resources, and a supportive community. Our mission is to equip young mothers with the skills, confidence, and resources they need to overcome the challenges of early parenthood and build successful, independent futures for themselves and their children.
We offer personalized mentorship, educational workshops on topics such as parenting, financial literacy, and career development, as well as essential resources to help our participants thrive. Through these programs, we aim to reduce stigma, provide emotional support, and create opportunities for young mothers to succeed in all aspects of their lives.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for passionate individuals to join our team and play a critical role in helping us expand our impact, develop sustainable fundraising strategies, and provide strategic guidance to achieve our mission.
