UAB Regions Institute for Financial Education in partnership with the IRS. We have established a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site right here on campus, and we are seeking volunteers to serve as tax preparers.

In order to volunteer, you must successfully complete and provide certificates for the following certification tests, achieving a score of 80% or better:

1. Volunteer Standards of Conduct

2. Intake-Interview and Quality Review

3. Advanced Certification

We are also assisting Non Resident Alien taxpayers. To assist in that area you would also need to complete an additional certification.

Online training and study materials will be provided to help you prepare for the exams.
