The Washburn Ranger District of the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest is looking for a motivated volunteer to serve as a campground host at Wanoka Campground. The campground is located in Northwest Wisconsin between the towns of Iron River and Ashland.
If you are interested in a beautiful campground and great fishing, then Wanoka
campground is just the right place for you. The campground is accessed off Highway 2, so
there is great access to amenities.
Wanoka Campground is located on Wanoka Lake. The campsites are situated within mature white pines which produce great shade. There are trout, pan fish, etc.
There are 20 campsites available, 12 of which are reservation sites.
Sites can be used for tents and RV camping. Each site has a campfire ring and a picnic table. Vault toilets and drinking water is also available. The campground has trash collection and a recycling container.
Fuel, fishing supplies, firewood, ice and restaurants are within 7 miles on a main highway.
Wanoka Campground is a primitive campground with no electric or water hook ups available. The campground does have potable water pump. The host site has a septic tank.
