Who We Are
COVERD Greater Cincinnati operates Cincinnati's only nonprofit diaper bank and we distribute 200,000 diapers and 30,000 period products PER MONTH to families through our social service partner agencies. We have 3 programs: Sweet Cheeks Diaper Bank, Tidal Babe Period Bank, and Fly & Dry Basic Needs Bank.
We couldn’t do this without you - literally! We need hundreds of volunteer hours each month to help fulfill our orders with our partner agencies. When you come to our warehouse, you might be counting, sorting and wrapping diapers; packing period kits; or helping us with general cleaning or administrative tasks. Either way, you will leave our warehouse confident that you’re changing the bottom line for families in need.

About the Volunteer Experience:
- Wrapping diapers and packing period kits is fun and can be done sitting or standing!
- Bring a group of up to 25 volunteers! We offer "closed groups" for 6 or more volunteers (perfect for companies, schools or large families) and "open sessions" for individuals or groups of 5 or less. These are open to the public for anyone to join.
- Volunteer shifts take place in 2-hour time slots, usually on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10am-12pm or 1pm-3pm. If you can't find a time for you, let us know.
- If you have accessibility needs, let us know. We have something for everyone!
- Feel free to bring snacks and drinks and make it a party!
What is Diaper Need and Period Poverty?
"Diaper need" is the lack of sufficient diapers to keep a baby clean, dry, and healthy. 1 in 2 U.S. families with young children cannot afford enough diapers. These babies are more vulnerable to painful rashes and urinary tract infections and have more trips to the doctor. 1 in 4 caregivers miss work or school because they can’t afford the diapers required to leave their baby in childcare.
"Period poverty" is also the lack of sufficient supplies to be clean and healthy. 2 in 5people struggle to purchase period products due to lack of income. Often times, menstruators are choosing between period products for themselves or diapers for their baby. Young menstruators often miss school, work, or daily activities because they do not have access to these products.
Government programs like WIC and SNAP do not cover these products! That's where YOU come in to help us distribute these products to families while advocating for change.
