Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Analyst to join our team. This role involves managing financial processes such as donor database management, budgeting, payroll processing, financial reporting, and compliance. The ideal candidate will bring exceptional analytical skills and a strong ability to interpret and synthesize financial information to drive organizational success.
Time Commitment:
Approximately 4 hours per week, with potential for slightly increased hours during quarter-end periods
Key responsibilities:
- Donor Database Management: Manage, update, and create reports about the Donor Database System (Salesforce.com). Recommend tools to improve donor management.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Build Excel Models to collect, organize, and analyze data to create reports. Develop an annual budget for future revenue and expenses. Work with the program manager to monitor program budgets.
- Payroll Processing: Oversee payroll processes, including ensuring compliance and coordinating with Paychex. Receive and store relevant documents for new hires.
- Financial Reporting: Maintain accurate accounting records using QuickBooks. Prepare financial statements for the board and stakeholders.
- Accounts Payable / Receivable and Inventory management: Work with Inclusive World - Small Business Products and Services to monitor invoicing, payments, and inventory.
- Fundraising Support & Grant Management: Provide financial data and analysis for fundraising efforts. Manage the grant reporting requirements and ensure compliance with grant guidelines.
- Compliance: Update management on nonprofit financial regulations and ensure adherence. File required forms with government agencies (e.g., RR1 Form, Statement of Information).
- Tax Returns: Assist with filing Sales Tax Returns and coordinate with the Tax Professional for filing Income Tax Returns.
- Financial Policies, Procedures, and Internal Controls: Develop and implement financial policies and internal controls to safeguard assets and prevent fraud.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
- Proficiency in financial tools such as QuickBooks, Excel, and Salesforce is a plus
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
