Event Description: Join us in bringing the wonders of history and art to life! Museo is thrilled to announce the grand opening of our latest gallery exhibit, and we are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers to be a part of this extraordinary event. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the cultural enrichment of our community while gaining valuable experience in the museum and art world. Come get a exclusive behind the scenes look of a museum opening while being in communidad.
About the exhibition: The profound impact of Africans enslaved and brought to Mexico remains largely overlooked. Presented by Latino Arts Project in collaboration with the Consulate General of Mexico in Denver, this exhibition celebrates Gaspar Yanga as the "First Liberator of the Americas" and invites audiences to uncover the resilience, creativity, and enduring legacy of AfroMexican culture. Through a variety of art mediums, explore the connection of Mexico’s untold history through a broader global narrative, encouraging reflection on the universal pursuit of freedom and identity.
